you put in. 2) Not waiting until the last minute to study for a test. 3) Packing everything you need
for school the night before.
FOCUS: Not picking up a phone call when studying for a test.
BEING ON TIME: To school, to class or a doctor’s appointment.
FLEXIBILITY: Easily adapting to new changes: moving to a new school; moving to a different
country; changing to a new team. Ex: Kodak.
INCREDIBLE CURIOSITY AND EAGERNESS TO LEARN
CONFIDENCE: Believing in yourself even when others doubt you.
COURAGE: Telling your friend to stop saying mean things about another girl.
OVERCOMING FEAR: Going on a scary ride in Six Flags to overcome your fear.
BEING DECISIVE: When buying a gift, you have variety of choices and you make up your mind
right away.
NOT BEING SHY: Asking questions, seeking advice. You don’t understand what the teacher said
and you raise your hand and ask to explain.

NOT FOLLOWING: At a party, all your friends are drinking soda and you drink water.
NOT GIVING IN TO PEER PRESSURE: A friend convinces you to hang out with him pastyour

You leave him and come home by yourself.
NOT SHOWING OFF: You bring the coolest gadgets to school and make sure not to flash them
in the lunchroom for everyone to see. You just show it to your closest friends.
SELF DISCIPLINE: You bring a goody bag from school and don’t eat it all at once. You take a
little each day. You discipline yourself not to buy every new item that comes out.
QUITTING BAD HABITS: Reduce time spent on a computer.
ANGER MANAGEMENT: A younger sibling is coloring on your homework. Instead of getting
angry, you ask her nicely to stop.
NOT BEING LAZY: When coming home from school, you do homework right away then play.
PERSEVERANCE | NEVER QUITTING | PERSISTENCE: Setting goals and committing to
achieving them. You are trying to lose weight and, even though you don’t see immediate results,
you keep eating healthy and exercising.
ABILITY TO RECOVER FROM FAILURE: Not to give up and to keep trying. Learn from
your mistakes and try a different approach.
PATIENCE: Not expecting instant results. Having the patience to develop the project and see the
long term gain.
RESPONSIBILITY: Keeping your promises. When you borrowed a toy from a friend, you returned
it on time just like you promised.
CONSISTENCY: You go to sleep at the same time, even on a day off.
TOLERANCE: Your friend comes with an unusual style of clothing or hair. You tell her that you
admire her for not being afraid to express herself.
ORGANIZATION: Your desk, room, backpack are neat and organized.
